As of late, there have been a number of issues that have gotten my dander up. The latest being all the controversy about the Chick-Fil-A owner stating his appreciation for and support for traditional marriage, and then quite literally having all hell break loose! What is this world coming to that he is not free to share his appreciation for and belief in traditional marriage, without all this harassment?
Disney has gay day, and many cities have gay parades. Clearly these are examples of the freedoms given to express their support for their beliefs and lifestyle choices. Mr. Cathy also has rights. Through the years, I have both read about, watched on t.v. and heard on radio talk shows, the countless studies proving the mental, emotional and financial benefits to children when both their mother and father remain married and raise them together. The stability factor is obvious all the way around. When a man and woman marry and actually succeed in remaining together long into their elder years, (which most vow before God that they will do...) it should be cheered and celebrated! It's not an easy thing to do! Stats for some time now reveal that about 1 out of 2 marriages 'bite the dust!' Every human being alive must give thanks for and concede, that it was the union of a man and a woman, (married or not,) that is to be thanked for their own existence! It is the cornerstone of most all religions and of civilization! We would all be fools to not celebrate and appreciate it!
Clearly, Mr. Cathy and SO many others in our country are steadily being victimized by view point discrimination...that is, if their point of view is different than that of the political left look out! Shall we draw from this crazy attack on Mr. Cathy that if you: 1.) have a business 2.) and are Christian, (in this case,) and 3.) if you believe and feel that a traditional, long term marriage is the best situation for children and families and that 4.) this type of relationship is to be encouraged and celebrated - that those who hold other views than these should now consider it NORMAL to openly declare that they wish cancer upon your patrons like Rosanne Barr did, and do everything possible to put you out of business? The mayors of Boston, Chicago and San Francisco, thinking that they can refuse to let Chick-Fil-A businesses in their states because of this... is so far out that I cannot even get my red blooded American brain around it! With far out views like these they are clearly revealing themselves as fascist-leaning and unsafe for office, in my opinion. Same sex marriage has NOT been officially deemed a 'civil right' as of yet, though many obviously feel that it is.
Am I all alone, or is anyone else noticing this very big elephant in our country's living room? Seems that far too many people, both in government positions, and in our citizenry are far too ready to throw out our freedom to think, live, believe and speak according to our own conscience and are ready to turn these over to the 'thought and word police!' The gay rights community, and those who share in that belief system, obviously have every right to think, live, believe and speak according to their own conscience as well, but it would seem that some are trying to exercise far more control than they should over those who simply want to express joy and appreciation for what IS working for them - which is long term heterosexual marriage. We are a country run by the rule of law. Clearly, no law has been broken by celebrating traditional marriage, c'mon now!
ImJusSayin - Do we have freedom of thought, speech, and religion in this country - or do we not? If this has changed, and we don't, then once and for all the President needs to call a 'state of the union' address and declare that all citizens of America are now to live in full and total servitude to the gay community in ALL WAYS. Example: "If you want to retain the right to safety and protection, if you want to retain the right to run a successful business in this country, if you want to marry, and raise a family without harassment, you MUST be ready and willing to throw overboard all doctrines of your faith, all rights to freedom of thought, word, deed, and conscience - and become fully loyal to all of the 'political correct' views and 'doctrines' of the far left and pro-gay agenda in this country....and if you do not - expect to be attacked, harassed in every way imaginable, and possibly worse. This is the New America so get used to it!" Now that I think about it, I do believe, if the truth be known...this is probably just what the left does believe! These actions against Mr. Cathy pretty much prove it. In my opinion though, they have truly over-reached this time.
Well, until he makes such a declaration - then what the heck happened to LIVE AND LET LIVE? What happened to tolerance? Aren't these ideas meant for all sides to practice? This recent situation with Mr. Cathy and reading about the all-out attack that he is experiencing is clearly crossing a boundary line that ALL American's should renounce and resist. I personally believe that there are MANY strong Americans in the gay community who are watching this and oppose it as well! Control is control is control...and ImJusSayin' this is in your face CONTROL and nothing else!
Mike Huckabee has declared Wednesday, August 1st, as "Chick-fil-a Day!" Let's all go and express our support for freedom of speech and for successful, traditional marriages...those that have been proven to encourage healthy families. If something is healthy, then it is! There's nothing anyone can, or should try to do to change this truth!
In closing: I will admit, however, that there was a time when I did express a slight dissatisfaction with Chick-Fil-A. In sharing my concern with them, I have reason to believe that I was most likely joined by, quite possibly thousands of others! How do I know? Well, you can now dip those awesome waffle fries in yummy cheese sauce! Many of you will remember, that was not always the case!

Serfdom - A Concern For Us Today, In America?
Awhile back, I joined The Heritage Foundation online at www.heritage.org. The Heritage Foundation is America's leading conservative policy organization. They are dedicated to helping the cause to defeat the encroachment of Liberalism/Socialism in our lives today, in America. You know, that push for a more centralized government, by many times, unscrupulous 'planners' who won't be satisfied until they control every aspect of our lives! Through many forms of education The Heritage Foundation advances the understanding and promotion of conservative principles. They quite often, run a free online course to better understand our Constitution.
For a $25.00 membership they were offering a (small) special abridged edition of The Road to Serfdom by Friedrich A. Hayek. The word 'serfdom' quickly caused me concern! Why would they offer a book of this title, at this time - unless they were concerned about it happening to us today? Not being fully attentive in history class, I probably couldn't have written even a descent paragraph clearly explaining what serfdom was, but ImJusSayin' I think everyone who hears this term remembers that it wasn't a good system to live under and wouldn't knowingly agree to living under it today! Serfdom? I think it's safe to say, if a survey was taken, I don't think a majority of Americans would put this on the top of their list of fears for our country. But, there it was...(along with a free periodical, the Heritage Member News,) the Heritage Foundation's book of choice was entitled: The Road to Serfdom.
I was really looking forward to receiving it to see just what Heritage thought would be so important for me to understand about it. The word even sounded scary, to me. After reading this little 48 page abridged edition of The Road to Serfdom I'm sorry to report - it WAS a very timely choice of books to be sending out! There are more than 600,000 copies in print at present. I thought it might be helpful to those whose curiosity I have peaked, to go ahead and list the chapter titles. Some of you will decide right away, that you DO WANT to read it's contents to further your education and ability to articulate just what is incrementally going on in our country, today...and it is a topic worthy of discussion.

Through the blood, sweat and tears of our forefathers we have inherited FREEDOM, and LIBERTY, and THE RIGHT TO THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS through SELF DETERMINATION, rather than servitude under the control of (Socialist) planners...who, by the way, always start by offering up their help in the area of economics and convince everyone that allowing them to make everything FAIR and EVENLY DISTRIBUTED will bring peace and contentment to them and their country and that their lives will be grand! History proves that just the opposite is what happens! They divide up the country, causing hatred and envy among as many different groups as they can. They have been dumming down our educational system, and rewriting history for a good long time now, as part of that very plan. Then through a strategy of incremental changes, they eventually control everything - and I mean everything!!
One reason why America has become such a 'melting pot' of cultures is because so many who lived in countries with 'planned and controlled' systems of government did everything they could to get out from under them and come here...many times escaping under the fear of losing their lives! Why on earth would we want to go under such a system again? Mainly, it is because the average American just doesn't understand 'the way' that countries come under the power of a dictator. They clearly haven't got a clue. ImJusSayin' as long as the wolf looks and sounds like their sweet, loving grandma (might the name Pelosi come to mind?) they will with full trust, faithfully go in closer and closer, until SERFDOM has them by the throat! How surprised and frightened they will all be then!
In this little booklet you will find that Hayek uses the topic of economics to discuss and explain both the thoughts and actions of mankind, with the knowledge he gained to unveil the totalitarian nature of socialism and to explain how it inevitably leads to serfdom. Both Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher respected and appropriated Friedrich Hayek's freedom-inspired economic policies, as they restored free market economics to its central role in the United States and in Britain. (Much of this paragraph was taken from the FORWARD in the booklet, though not verbatim.)
There's a statement that's worth repeating found on page 25..."Almost all the traditions and institutions which have moulded the national character and the whole moral climate of England and America are those which the progress of collectivism and its centralistic tendencies are progressively destroying!" Just thought I'd wet your whistle a bit. It's all good. It will challenge you. Just speaking for myself, I believe that I am a much better 'informed American' for reading it...the wolf won't be fooling me or those in my circle of influence, that's for sure...unless of course, they insist on staying in the dark. They do have that right.
I highly recommend ALL conservatives...and ALL Americans, for that matter, to avail themselves to the information within this booklet. A Young Woman's Nine Years of Poverty Turns Into Blessing for Many Others!
Lake County residents and many who live in neighboring counties are familiar with the little Harbor Town of Fairport, Ohio. This little town is home to one very pleasant beach that my husband and I occasionally drive to on Saturday nights to sit on our favorite bench, watch the peaceful waters roll in and out, until we finally watch a gorgeous sun finally sink down, down, then out of sight. As we wait for this very pleasant and relaxing scene to happen, there's usually a dog or two frolicking in the waves as they attempt to catch that frisbee that was thrown out there especially for them. I, more times than not, am reading aloud, the next chapter of Bill O'Reilly's book, Killing Lincoln, to my husband and myself. (All of the proceeds from this book purchase go to The Wounded Warriors Project.) My husband Mitchell, has commented often, how blessed we are to have both Fairport's and Mentor's Beach so close, and wonder why we don't take even more advantage of them.
Almost 36 years ago, we had rented our first little (furnished) apartment in a large home, in this little Harbor Town, on High Street. One Sunday morning before church, my water broke. I set off to the hospital and soon gave birth to a beautiful little baby girl who we named Holly Michelle. It would be Holly, Hally, or Haley...but 'Holly' just seemed right. "Holly Berry" would be the worst 'nickname' she would ever have to 'endure'...just the way I planned it. Only 5 lbs. 12 oz. and sweet as they came...but from ages 2 - 5 years old we would find that this one was ready to take on the world! We had a time of reprieve from age 6-13, which I will treasure forever, but after age 13th...I take the fifth! (And I think she would too!) As I remember, we didn't take as many pictures as parents do today, and we only owned a 110 camera, so most of the pictures that we did take, (mainly just at birthdays and holidays) eventually turned an odd orange-y color. We do, however have some great ones that were taken by Olan Mills Photography. Thank God for Olan Mills!
Anyway, down the road of Holly's life she would meet 'Mr. Right,' have a beautiful wedding and get married. After three years she had a beautiful little girl herself, that they named Olivia Grace. Our first grandchild! What a tremendous blessing she has been. After 5 years of marriage, however, she found herself a divorcee and caught in the poverty cycle that so many young moms find themselves in these days. For nine years she worked as a waitress, cleaned with me in my cleaning business (T.L.C. Home & Office Cleaning, Inc.) and shyly pulled out her food stamp card at the grocery store. We helped as we were able, and when we would see needs, but Holly was never one to ask for help often. She was a hard worker and still had that independent spirit that longed for purpose and a brighter day for her and Olivia. They say that single mothers are among the most poverty stricken of any group, and it is true. In my opinion, all the churches should have ministries to help them, without exception, with minor house repairs, car repairs, oil changes, new tires, utility bills, and things like that. Nine years of such difficult living caused her to write a book called: "Looking Out Restaurant Windows" which will be able to be purchased on line, very soon.
About 4 years ago now, God brought a great man into her life. They were both in the throngs of finding God in their lives again, and ended up encouraging one another in this endeavor. They met as he brought his mom for lunch at the Paradise restaurant where Holly had worked for six years. His mom had been going through chemotherapy, and it was the ONLY restaurant where she could 'stomach' the food, for some reason...(Im JusSayin...God works in mysterious ways!) They began their relationship as friends, taking their kids to circuses and parks together, but soon fell in love and got married. Geuss where they ended up buying their first home? You guessed it! Fairport Harbor. Her grandfather, Frank Curtiss was born and raised there. We lived there for a short time, as I've already shared...and now - she has boomeranged back!
Holly has always had a heart for those who struggle financially because of the ongoing financial challenges that she and Olivia had endured. One day Holly and her husband David received a 'divine' idea to put up signs and gather as many clothes as they could and have a one day 'FREE CLOTHES' event for the community. With the recession hitting hardest on the poor and many struggling to find work, they wanted to be of help to many of their neighbors and those living in the community. Through another 'divine' chain of events...one thing again, leading to another...they opened up THE FREE STORE at the top of High Street hill. You're reading this right! It's a store where the items within are all FREE! Almost immediately, God sent two men, Dave and Dan to help out in as many ways as you could possibly imagine. What an incredible help to them! Then others followed, including many friends from their church, Trinity Baptist in Mentor, Ohio. They have been able to help hundreds of people now, young and old alike, with free clothing, personal care items, small household appliances. Possibly in the future they will be located in a larger facility so that they can accommodate more, but that's about it for now. They also connect people who have larger items like beds, refrigerators, etc. that want to give them for free - to those who need those very things! What a blessing to both the giver and receiver when these things work out! Remember, Jesus DID say, "It is more blessed to give, than to receive!"
Their store is open every Thursday and Friday from 11:00 am - 4:00 pm. If it is impossible for you to go then, they will allow you to visit on Wednesday night from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. by appointment only. Wednesday night is also when they accept donations. They are taking clean, summer clothing at this time, along with any of the items listed above, along with monetary donations to advance the cause of helping those in need and to continue to see the store remain and grow. They are hoping to purchase a truck/van for deliveries.
At this pace, it looks to me like they may soon be outgrowing their present location. They believe that they will be remaining in Fairport as long as, "the Lord wills" and if they are to leave, he will guide them as to where. You may also want to visit the Finnish Museum, and/or patron the other three stores that have opened in the same stretch of building as THE FREE STORE, (on the left side, on High Street, before you go down the hill to the beach.) One is called The Marine Store, the second is, The Windsurf Shop and the third is: The Sand Castle which hosts the Noah's Ark Bible Club. Their Vacation Bible School starts this Monday (June 18 - 20.) Times: 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. The Fairport Family Restaurant is right across the street and is definitely worth the trip into Fairport also. My husband would tell you, "Try the Reuben, it was great!" I recently met a few girlfriends there before we visited THE FREE STORE with some clothing and items we had gathered to donate...and our breakfasts were outstanding!
One of Holly's favorite scriptures is: Proverbs 3:5&6 - Trust in the Lord, with all of your heart, and lean not to your own understanding. In ALL your ways, acknowledge Him - and He WILL direct your paths. Good CAN and DOES come out of bad...ImJusSayin' look how the pain and difficulties of one young woman have turned into the joy and blessing of so many others! Her husband David is credentialed in the ministry now, and is often found sharing the love of God with those who come in searching. Many would attest to having had their lives 'immensely blessed' by this very important part of the Fairport FREE STORE, also!

The Fairport Family Restaurant is right across the street and is definitely worth the trip into Fairport also. My husband would tell you, "Try the Reuben, it was great!" I recently met a few girlfriends there before we visited THE FREE STORE with some clothing and items we had gathered to donate...and our breakfasts were outstanding!
One of Holly's favorite scriptures is: Proverbs 3:5&6 - Trust in the Lord, with all of your heart, and lean not to your own understanding. In ALL your ways, acknowledge Him - and He WILL direct your paths. Good CAN and DOES come out of bad...ImJusSayin' look how the pain and difficulties of one young woman have turned into the joy and blessing of so many others! Her husband David is credentialed in the ministry now, and is often found sharing the love of God with those who come in searching. Many would attest to having had their lives 'immensely blessed' by this very important part of the Fairport FREE STORE, also!

Prayers Still Going Up For Healing of Chardon School Community
About three Saturdays ago now, I had the pleasure of attending a Geauga County Mom's In Prayer Group for their annual breakfast. It was great getting to meet the other moms and grandmas who feel the urgency to pray for their kids and their schools, on a consistent basis. This International Prayer Group used to be called: Mom's In Touch International. Some of you have heard Fern Nichols, it's founder, speak on 103.3 FM every once in awhile. There are groups available for those who live in the Chardon School district, as well as groups for moms who live in other school districts. It's focus is coming together once a week, for approximately one hour of focused prayer. After pulling up the Mom's In Prayer International website a couple months ago now, I am now meeting and praying with a small group of very faithful and 'faithfilled' mothers at Panera Bread in Mentor (by Kohl's,) run by Diane Carswell. I can't believe that I am up on a Saturday morning, and over there by 7:15 AM (not being a morning person by nature) but I have been, and boy has it been worth it! I have already seen the difference in the children's lives that I (and the other mom's) have been praying for.
At one point in Geauga County's annual breakfast itinerary, a representative mom from each school would normally be given opportunity to give thanks to God, and share with the others about answered prayers for their schools. This year, however, it was decided that things would be done a bit differently. A couple/three of the mom's from the Chardon district were given the full time to update everyone on how things have been going in regards to their own healing process and those of the Chardon families who lost children, those who had been injured, and those who are still being affected with fear and painful memories. It was very moving for us all, to hear about some of the ongoing emotional struggles that the families and students at Chardon High are still dealing with. When they had finished, we corporately covered them with prayer, also. It was good to learn that the area churches, including Chardon Assembly of God, are still available for counseling and prayer, and are continuing to do this on an ongoing basis. It has been determined, from past school tragedies of this nature, that the community will need approximately four years of help, counseling, and other types of intervention to see them through this properly. We were assured that the love, cards, donations, and all our prayers, along with signs of support, have been very helpful, though we could also hear that it is certainly not time to stop yet, that's for sure.
I had the honor, last summer, of having been asked to run for Riverside School Board, by a friend and neighbor, and then endorsed by the Lake County GOP. After my husband and I prayed about it, we decided that I would. I learned a lot during that campaign, and I want to thank everyone, so much, who showed faith in me, with their votes. In my opinion, I felt strongly, that we really needed to bring the Riverside School district, it's families, and it's schools before God for His intervention and help, and I still do...so we are! I have learned one thing for sure in my life thus far, and that is that prayer changes things. I decided that contacting Mom's In Prayer International to do this would be one of the most meaningful things that I could do to contribute in helping the Riverside School district through their difficult challenges, and transitions - and after the tragedy in Chardon, it has been a great encouragement to see that the mom's and grandma's in that district are also blanketing the Chardon School district and its families with prayer, during the tragedy that they faced, and the unique challenges that they are still facing.
ImJusSayin' we're living in a new day in this country. It's a new day for our schools. New is not always good, unfortunately. I think that we are all feeling this...and it's definitely a time to invite he Lord's wisdom, help, and protection over us and our children - each and every day.
In winding up, I did not end up winning a seat on that board, as many of you know...though I was told that the incumbent president who I was running against, and I, were only about 6 votes apart at one point in the evening...but she won the victory at nights end by about 365 votes. Though I hadn't won, I decided that that was no reason why I shouldn't continue with my plan to find and join a group, and then at some point, be of any help that I could to plant and grow more groups. Praying for children, their schools, their teachers and their administrators is very needed today, and doing it with other moms makes it so much more fun - and effective! I was very pleased to find two mom's from the Riverside district in my Saturday group. I am still in the process of discovering where other groups are located already, where more groups are needed, what schools are being covered, and finding other interested moms who would like to hook up with a group and start praying, asap! One Incredible Moment!
I'll be setting the scene for you, before I share with you my 'one incredible moment!' My husband Mitchell and I made it out to Federated Church in Russell Township, two Sunday mornings ago. We went to view an art exhibit that the church was hosting. It ended up quite a little trek from our house, but chose to go at a time when we could first enjoy the art exhibit, and then attend their last service. It was so exciting to see the photographs because I personally know the photographer, Carl M. Jenks. Carl is a great person, and we were very impressed with all of his pictures. We talked with the Pastor afterwards and let him know that we had driven in from Lake County just to see them. He made some very nice comments about Carl's work, about how well done they are, and how he chooses such a wide variety of topics to photograph. We certainly had to agree! We, like many, are basically overworked and don't get out to do things that are very 'different' together, that often. So we were very thankful that Carl had let me know about his art show. It caused us to do something out of the ordinary that morning, and venture out of our Lake County 'comfort zone!' We had never been to or through, Russell Township before, and only found that we would be heading that way, after we had Google mapped 'Federated Church' on Bell St. We enjoyed the exhibit and the service that followed too. What happened afterwards, however, blew our minds! I thought you might get a kick out of the story:
My husband and I work different shifts and don't get the pleasure of spending as much time together as we would prefer. We, like many, are basically overworked and don't get out to do things that are very 'different' together, that often. So we were very thankful that Carl had let me know about his art show. It caused us to do something out of the ordinary that morning, and venture out of our Lake County 'comfort zone!' We had never been to or through, Russell Township before, and only found that we would be heading that way, after we had Google mapped 'Federated Church' on Bell St. We enjoyed the exhibit and the service that followed too. What happened afterwards, however, blew our minds! I thought you might get a kick out of the story:
Our final destination would be Chagrin Falls. Up until that day, we had never knew or heard of the bustling little Main Street of stores, restaurants, or the beautiful falls that are available for the public to enjoy, so after the service, Mitchell asked the Pastor if there was anything special in the area to visit before we headed home. He told us to make a left out of their driveway, go straight, and we would find quite a lot of activity on Main Street that we would most likely enjoy! So we got in our car, made the left out of the driveway and headed down to check it out.
Before I share what happened I must first say, It's amazing to think about all of the decisions that were made and unmade in that previous week, that ended up having my husband and I driving out to that show on Sunday morning rather than myself and another woman going out on an evening, mid-week. It had been showing throughout the month, and though I tried numerous times to get out to see it in the evening, inviting my sister at one time, then my friend Cecelia, and even my daughter Holly, but none could attend. Also, that my husband and I were the ones who ended up out there on the last day of the event, and that it ended up the ONLY time that we could go together. Add to all these changes, all those that my daughter and her husband had made for their weekend, and those that they were making even up to that very morning... and last, but not least, the impeccable timing that was needed to bring all of us right up to...one incredible moment!
At first, we thought we would just drive up and down Main Street, viewing it all from within the car, and then head home, but after having seen a sign on a cute little red and white store that stated: "Chocolate Covered Strawberries" I was motivated to venture out of our car and indulge! I lovingly, twisted my husband's arm to park, and to get out and get some! Well, he finally agreed after I reminded him of how few 'different' things that we get to do, and that THIS was our opportunity! (I'm sure many of you wives out there, can relate!) He parked our car and we began to walk down the street towards Main. We then proceeded to walk across it to get to the other side - when I heard my husband yell out "Dave and Holly!" The visions of luscious strawberries flew right out of my head, as I looked up to my right - and there they were! My daughter Holly and her husband David, in their car, waiting for the pedestrians (us) to cross the street, in front of them. My husband was pointing at them...and their eyes and mouths were wide open while pointing back at us! We all could not believe our eyes! There we all were, at the same place on planet earth, at the same moment, so far away from home, without having planned it one bit! David said, "Holly - there's your dad, there's your parents!...I could see her saying, "NO" in disbelief! I could not believe it! (It was amazing and hysterical, all at the same time!)
We simply had NO idea that one another would be going there today, and yet, there we all were! Both David's son, and Holly's daughter were visiting their other parents that day, so David shared later, that he decided to bring Holly there to enjoy some time together on a nice day! (He had previous knowledge of it as a youngster.) When Holly and I had discussed possibly going to see Carl's art exhibit together earlier in the week, we only knew that we would be heading South on Rt. 306 in order to get there, and that we would be printing out a google map if we went. Because she had decided that she couldn't attend, she hadn't even mentioned it to her husband. Now, there was my daughter and I looking and pointing at one another, in the same place, at the same time, in total shock! ImJusSayin! I was standing in the middle of a street, 25 miles away from home, in a place I'd never been before - and there's was eldest child right in front of me! There's got to be a name for this type of occurrence but if I've ever heard it, it's totally evading me now.

We joined up and we all went into the unique little red and white store that offered popcorn, Euclid Beach custard, and chocolate covered strawberries, together. We enjoyed about an hour of fun conversation, and laughter, as Mitchell, Holly and David have a great sense of humor, and I love to laugh! Afterwards, we went down a long flight of stairs to see the beautiful falls where we were able to take some pictures and make some great memories together. Finally, we parted company with hugs, all still in amazement. We headed home, talking about what a great surprise, and blessing it was, all the way. (We left the love-birds there to spend a little time alone, since after all, my son in law had brought Holly all the way out there, with that goal in mind!)
ImJusSayin, we will never forget the divine way that we met up that day...and it would never have taken place had I not ended up having to wait until the last day of Carl's exhibit, my son-in-law just coming up with the idea to take the long drive to Chagrin to show this area to my daughter right when he did, and having a very, sweet and fun-loving God to coordinate it all! I emailed my friend about this amazing day and ended it with: Thanks Carl, for the part that you played in our blessing, deciding to have your art displayed at Federated Church, this month, ending on Sunday, the 6th of May...so that Mitchell and I would be walking across Main Street at the same time that my daughter and her husband were sitting there, waiting for the pedestrians to cross.
We decided that this event sealed the deal. God does guide our steps, even when we are unaware. He brought us together to enjoy quality time, that He knew, we would not have had on that day without his loving help. In choosing to do it in this way, He let us know just how loving and sovereign He truly is in our lives. What a comfort it brought to us all, and still brings.

Know Your Constitution and You Won't Be Fooled!
Have you ever felt like you should know your country's constitution better? Most of us know some of it, little parts here and there, but very few really understand it fully. If we don't know our constitution, then we really don't know if a politician may be suggesting ideas, or even a law that may fly right in the face of it! Would you really recognize socialist, communist, or fascist propaganda, if you heard it? (There's quite a lot of it being bandied about these days.) If we don't know our constitution - and our Bill of Rights, for that matter, then we are at a terrible disadvantage. We live in an age when there are many ideologies out there being espoused, and all are vying for our loyalties. Many may sound good, but are they really? Remember, even the beastly German dictator, Hitler, made MANY PROMISES to the people of Germany. They loved him in the beginning. We mustn't forget John Kennedy's famous line: "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country!" We've come a long way, in a very few short years.

Those at Hillsdale decided to run this online course, and offer it for free because they love our country and because so many just don't know our constitution. (There is also an opportunity to make a donations for those who would like to and who are able.) They want the American people to fully understand just what our elected officials put their hands on the Bible and swear to uphold! I remember as a young person, hearing about enemies of the United States who had vowed to take over the country without shooting even one shot! Do you remember hearing that? They obviously planned on taking us over from within, in a 'progressive' way...little by little. Sort of like that frog being put into water, and heating it up, slowly, so that he won't jump out. Soon, though...he finds himself COOKED in frog stew!
ImJusSayin' it sure seems to me that they'll have an easier chance of it, if we can't tell the difference between true statesmen and (another way of putting it) those who would go about laying out 'socialist traps' with goodies in them...that will eventually snap shut on our necks! Trayvon and Zimmerman Story Still Unfolding
Wednesday night, while watching Bill O'Reilly, I heard him mention something that I had touched on in my last blog. Basically, that neither of these men knew a thing about the other. Zimmerman didn't know that Trayvon's father was visiting someone who lived in the neighborhood at the time, and as Bill said, Trayvon didn't know that Zimmerman was a neighborhood watch captain. Both of them didn't have a clue about the other. I think that it is clear that because Zimmerman didn't recognize Trayvon as someone who lived in the neighborhood, he was naturally suspicious of him, due to the recent breaking and entering situations in the community, and because he thought his behavior was not ordinary. (There is no evidence as of yet, that Trayvon was involved in the B&E's, or even aided others.) Because Trayvon saw George (a man he did not know,) following him, he too became anxious. Sean Hannity had George's dad on his show, and he was interviewed. They again played the tape of George having called the police. I don't personally think that he sounded hateful, angry or out of control enough, to have chased Trayvon down, and just killed him "in cold blood," (as some have characterized the event.) Mr. Zimmerman said that George told him that when the two became face to face, Trayvon said, "You got a problem?" and that George said, "No, I don't have a problem." Soon after a fight ensued, and there was a witness who said they saw Trayvon on top of George. An awful tragedy clearly followed, but I can't say that I see a story of racism here? Who can ever know what is in the heart of a man? I find it very bothersome that SO many, including many political figures have fully decided that they KNOW beyond the shadow of a doubt that George was a racist! There doesn't seem to be any proof of this as we learn more about George's life before this fateful event. My heart goes out to the family of young Trayvon. I challenge all involved to step back, take a deep breathe, and pray for the truth to be revealed. God will help all, but it may end up that being angry and deeply hurt about all that has happened is appropriate...but insisting that racism brought it all to pass, just may not be. Would those who put out the bounty for George still feel justified if he wasn't a racist after all? I am praying for those who are investigating this, and for all who are finding themselves overwhelmed with anger about it. I am asking for the peace of God to be with all, but also that the Lord will convict anyone who may justify racism in their own hearts. ImJusSayin...no race is immune to this sin...and the fruit of it can never bring anything that is good or just.
